Mental Health
If you need immediate support please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or click below to find other ways to get immediate support.
JCCM has led the coordination of psychological support services by bringing together key community agencies such as Jewish Care, Hatzolah, and Australian Jewish Psychologists. We have centralised information and access below to minimise obstacles for those seeking help.

Australian Jewish Psychologists
Australian Jewish Psychologists (AJP) provides psychological response and recovery to critical incidents, delivered by a significant membership of highly skilled registered Jewish psychologists, many of whom have trauma specialisation.
AJP is here to support our community by offering debriefs, psychological first aid, and therapy for those who may need more ongoing or in-depth support. The first session is provided free of charge and is delivered by registered Jewish psychologists. AJP supports children, adolescents, and adults, with timely access to appointments and consideration given to any financial concerns. We also offer group debriefs at no cost and provide support to community organisations during this difficult time.

Chevra Hatzolah Melbourne
Hatzolah provide emergency medical first response services to the geographical areas of East St Kilda, Balaclava, Caulfield, Elsternwick, Ripponlea, Malvern, and St Kilda. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to attend to all medical emergencies.
Hatzolah provides one-on-one singular counselling sessions for community members, by community members. Set up in the immediate aftermath of the terror attacks in Israel, the Hatzolah program - Navigating Emotions Through Tragedy, is managed by a dedicated social worker, with services provided by a team of registered psychologists, including Hebrew speakers. The program has become a crucial community service.

Jewish Care Victoria
Jewish Care Victoria is the leading social welfare organisation for the Victorian Jewish community, providing residential and community aged care, disability services, social work support, financial services, housing, and more.
Jewish Care Victoria offers no-cost psychology services for Victorian Jewish community members aged 16 years and over. A Mental Health Care Plan or Medicare eligibility is not required. Community members can access up to 10 psychology sessions, with both telehealth and face-to-face options available. Services are provided by Provisional Psychologists under the supervision of a Senior Clinical Psychologist.
Jewish Care’s mental health education program supports trauma-informed mental health responses across the community. Custom workshops and accredited training are individually tailored for each cohort and facilitated by experienced educators with a deep knowledge and understanding of our community.
